You own a rifle, but you are uncomfortable with handling or shooting it. This four hour course is your first step to familiarize yourself with your rifle. If you don’t own a rifle, but want to learn how to safely operate a rifle, you can rent a rifle for use during the course. The goal of this course is to familiarize you with the safe operation of a rifle and to learn how a rifle works.
Safety rules are explained and demonstrated. The fundamentals of shooting are covered; position, grip, breath control, sight alignment, trigger squeeze, and follow-through, which is the first step to developing consistent accuracy.
This course is recommended for adults or children over the age of 10 who want to learn a foundation for recreational shooting of rifles and have no previous experience with firearms. There are no prerequisites for this course. The course fee is $85.00 per student. There is a three student minimum fee for private classes. Bolt action .22LR caliber rifle rentals are $25.00 plus the cost of the ammunition. State law allows you to buy the ammunition from BullsEye without a background check as is required in gun stores.
