You own a pistol or revolver, but you are uncomfortable with handling or shooting it. This four hour course is your first step to familiarize yourself with your handgun. If you don’t own a handgun, but want to learn how to safely operate a handgun, you can rent a handgun for use during the course. The goal of this course is to familiarize you with the safe operation of a handgun and to learn how a handgun works.
Safety rules are explained and demonstrated. The fundamentals of shooting are covered; position, grip, breath control, sight alignment, trigger squeeze, and follow-through, which is the first step to developing consistent accuracy.
This course is recommended for adults or children over the age of 10 who want to learn a foundation for recreational shooting of handguns and have no previous experience with firearms. The CCW initial permit course includes the basic content of this course.
There are no prerequisites for this course. The course fee is $85.00 per student. There is a three student minimum fee for private classes. Handgun rentals are $25.00 plus the cost of the ammunition. State law allows you to buy the ammunition from BullsEye without a background check as is required in gun stores.
